How much does a
people counter cost?
Most counters charge for hardware plus a monthly software fee. Installation is the hidden cost: wired sensors need power and network cabling at each door, often with a professional installer.

What drives the price.
- Sensor type. Thermal and beam counters are simpler; 3D and AI camera counters cost more and can add demographics.
- Power and network. PoE sensors need a cable run to every door. Battery and cellular sensors don’t.
- Software. Check whether dashboards, POS integration, extra users and data export are included or extra.
- Contract. Multi-year contracts lower the monthly price but lock you in. Month-to-month lets you leave.
